What is Cross Road Ministry?
The Cross Road Ministry is a support group that emphasizes twelve life transitions that will lead you to a Godly lifestyle. This support group is not limited to alcohol addiction or substance abuse. If you are struggling living a Godly life in any area (like telling lies for example), Cross Road is here for you.
12 Transitions Preview
- Powerless Over Compulsions (Matthew 6:24)
- The first step we will discuss is how our compulsions make us weak and how with Christ's help, we can be made strong. We must, however, admit we need help.
- Restoring Your Peace of Mind (2 Timothy 1:7)
- Step two will discuss how we came to believe that God can and will, if we will trust in Him, restore us to sanity.
- Making A Decision (Psalms 37:5)
- Step three is about serving or not serving. It’s about making a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand Him.
- Taking Inventory (Hebrews 4:13)
- In step four, we will discuss and make a searching and fearless inventory of ourselves.
- Coming Out Party (Romans 3:23)
- Step five will be to discuss the meaning of a coming out party which is “We have admitted to ourselves and God the exact nature of our wrongs.”
- Restoring Character (John 15:5)
- In step six, we will talk about being ready to entirely have God remove all our defects of character.
- Humbling Ourselves (James 4:10)
- The Bible has a lot to say about humbling ourselves in order for God to lift us up to Him. In step seven, we will discuss what this means.
- Making Amends (Part One) (Matthew 5:23-24)
- Step eight is about listing the people we have harmed and becoming willing to make amends.
- Making Amends (Part Two) (1 John 4:20)
- Step nine is an extension of eight due to the importance of it. Making amends will be discussed further, but only when it is possible to do so without causing further harm to yourself or others.
- Taking Daily Inventory (Ephesians 6:14-17)
- Step ten will be about taking inventory of ourselves on a daily basis and when we are wrong, to quickly admit to it.
- Seeking to Understand (Proverbs 8:17)
- In step eleven, we will be looking at improving our contact with God through prayer and meditation on the Word.
- Bringing It All Together (John 8:32)
- This is where we look back upon what we have learned of ourselves, our relationship with God, and our relationship with our fellow man. We look at this as not the end, but the beginning of what God has in store for us.
