Uturn Student Ministry
Uturn is the name of our Jr-Sr High Student ministry and we follow the same simple mission of our church to Reach, Build, and Honor. We teach our students that the church is more than a building and that you must reach out personally into the lives of those around you. We believe that as young individuals it is vitally important that they build their foundation and themselves up on the teachings of God through His Word. That respect and honor are equally vital to the relationships our students create and most importantly, their relationship to God. We show them how to honor God in everything they do.
In short, we teach our students that the first turn in their lives must be toward God and that the only way to truly succeed is through an authentic relationship with God. The second turn in their lives should be toward others; to reach out into their communities and share their joy and God's truths with others.
Uturn to God, Uturn to Others
More about Uturn
A “Uturn” is synonymous with changing directions. This is exactly what we want to see in the lives of our students. We desire for them to make a complete turn in their lives when they encounter the undeniable, amazing love of God. In every service, we give our students the opportunity to not only turn to God, but to also turn things around in their own lives as we discover what God says about our situations. We all have something that we desire to improve. We give our students the tools and strategies every week through the word of God to make lasting and real changes in their lives.
Uturn also suggests that you are the one responsible for the turn around in your life. We remind them that the decision to live for God will always start with each of them individually and that no one else can be responsible for their decisions. We encourage them to live responsibly, respectfully and honorably.
We also continually encourage our students to share what they have learned with their friends, family and others. We believe that God is not a secret to be kept and that as we grow in our knowledge of Him, it should reflect in our actions and attitudes.
