Through Thin & Thick

Begins February 5th. Life is full of relationships! With God, with our spouse, brothers and sisters, family, coworkers, friends, etc... The joy of relationship is fellowship! Relationship without fellowship never satisfies the heart! Broken fellowship is one of the saddest things we can experience.

Your relationship with other people is a good indicator of your relationship with God. More than anything else in life, our relationships make us or break us! It is like the saying says “Faults are thick where love is thin.” The great key to faith is to know God. The key to knowing God is to fellowship with Him. The key to fellowshipping with Him is to agree with Him.

Living With Focus

In Habakkuk 2:2 the Lord says we are to write the vision and make it plain. God has a vision for you; a plan and a purpose for your life! He leads you by the desires of our heart. Make it a point to write down your goals and desires. You'll find that if you do write them down you are more likely to see them come to pass. During the month of January Pastor Mark will be talking about vision and what it is. Get ready to watch God's plan for your life unfold!

Living with Focus begins Sunday, January 1st, 2012, right here at Harvest Bible Church!

PEELED

2 Peter 1:3-4 (NLT)

3 As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness! 4 And by that same mighty power, he has given us all of his rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in his divine nature.

When we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior we received God's divine nature! That nature is made real in our lives through our spirit! Galatians 5:22 talks about the fruit of the spirit and that is the fruit of our spirit not the Holy Spirit. We have these nine fruit in us and we have the ability to use them in our lives! These fruit are what molds our character into the image of God! As we study these fruit we will come to understand the powerful force that is within us! If we live in the spirit then let us also walk in the spirit!

Undeafeated
When we realize that the authority that belongs to Christ also belongs and is available to us, the individual members of the Body of Christ, our lives will be revolutionized! We will never understand this authority only with your intellect; we must get a spiritual revelation of it. We must believe it by faith. Authority belongs to us whether we realize it or not. The door to exercising authority pivots upon two phrases. Paul prayed 1) in Ephesians 1:20, “And set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.” And 2) in Ephesians 2:6 “hath raised us up together.” Jesus said He has all authority in Heaven and in Earth and He gave us His authority to function as His body here on the Earth. What an incredible privilege we have to exercise the Lord’s will on the Earth. He gave us authority to do it so let’s do it!
RENEWED

Romans 12:2 (KJV) “And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Ephesians 4:23 AMP “And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind (having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude).”

If we can control our thoughts we can control our faith and if we control our faith we will control our destiny! God told us to renew our minds to His way of thinking. Philippians 2:5 says, “let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus!” As we study on how to think in line with God’s Word we will be changed from strength to strength and from faith to faith and from glory to glory! 1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “for who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ! So get ready to think beyond where you are because all things are possible with God!

Your Identity In Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” When we identify with Christ we are connecting ourselves to the most powerful force in the universe! To know who we are in Christ is to walk as God has planned and purposed for us! These teachings will open your eyes to the fullness of being a believer and an overcomer in Christ! Join us Sunday and experience who you really are!

Voice Control

James said that our tongue controls our direction in life. He used the analogies of a bit in a horses mouth and a rudder controlling a ship. Scientist have proven that we all have a voice command inside of us that controls our lives. Ever wonder why there is so much power in words? Come and hear how powerful your words can be! James 1:26 (NLT) says, "If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.”

Follow Your Heart

We are three part beings. The Bible describes it like this: we are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body. God refers to our spirit as our heart, but people today refer to the heart as something completely different; feelings or emotions. God leads us by communicating with our spirit and it is vital that we become aware of the leading of our spirit. When we learn to follow the leading of our spirit, we’ll know which choices are the right ones even when they don’t make immediate sense.

Write the Vision
Habakkuk 2:2 “...Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it..." Writing down your goals and vision helps to bring them to past in your life and helps you see God working in your life.
